The Fate Of poojalooba.com
My hosting service, Google, has announced that they are no longer
supporting Google Page Creator and that all Google Page Creator sites
will be migrated to Google Sites. Google had previously
announced that they were no longer accepting new signups for Google
Page Creator but that they would continue to support existing sites.
That is apparently no longer the case. I thought
that I would be exempt because I actually paid for my domain and my
Google Apps subscription (with Google Page Creator included) and I
didn't just have a free-host version.
Apparently, not even the paying Google
Page Creator users get to keep their sites, and starting in June, all
Google Page Creator sites will be migrated to Google Sites.
This is a huge problem because not only does Google Sites not
support JavaScript or CSS (half my site is built around those codes),
but Google Sites does not allow you to upload any .html files.
All pages on a Google Site must be natively built with the
absolutely terrible Google Sites manager. So, every single
page on my site will disappear mid-Jun and the only thing that http://www.poojalooba.com
will redirect to is a blank page with some info about redirection and a
picture of a cow. Thanks to the JavaScript stripping, the
redirection won't even take place. All I'll be left with is
the page that nobody has ever seen that redirects you from http://www.poojalooba.com
to http://www.poojalooba.com/home.html
So, my site will effectively cease to
exist come June. I'm looking at other hosting options, and
I've got my eye on NearlyFreeSpeech.net
right now. Their
prices and business models and ideas are compelling and I think I could
host my site for about $2 a month there, as compared to
the $10-a-month hosting services that offer way more bandwidth and
storage space than I'm going to use. I'll definitely be spending
more than I am right now no matter what I do, but with NearlyFreeSpeech
it shouldn't be too terrible.
I will definitely be transferring my
domain to somewhere other than Google, and I will try to keep the site up and running
(although I may redesign it to be more size-efficient) and I'll post
updates on the fate of poojalooba.com as it progresses.

Projects Section Updates
The Projects
section of my site is slowly coming under way.
Today I finished an instructable for the homemade talkbox
that I built, and I'll try to get some good audio clilps and a
schematic for my fuzz pedal up soon. I'm pretty close to
being completed with my site and having every page uploaded (no more
pesky 404 errors!) and I'm about to buckle down and start recording a
bunch of songs, too. I've had a few months to sit and wait
and now I'm going to jump back into songwriting. Expect some
new stuff coming in the next little while!

Section Updates
In the last month a lot has happened at poojalooba.com. Most
notable is most of the pages being finished and uploaded (I still have
the videos and projects page to finish, I'll try to do those later
today). Over in the music section,
I finally uploaded the songs I've completed, and I added a nice Flash
Player for streaming music, as well as adding the option to download
songs. The images
page was uploaded and contains its first file.
The RSS
Feed continues to be updated regularly, and the contact page
finally has a quick and easy contact form built into it so that you can
contact me without having to compose an email or trying to remember my
email address. Go check the changes out! I'll try
to get poojalooba.com 100% uploaded and up-to-date in the very near
future!

Welcome
to poojalooba.com!
Welcome
to
the new homepage for poojalooba_cow, poojalooba.com! I've
actually owned this domain since about July, but I've only recently
shied away from the lame Google Page Creator setting and decided to
code my own webpage completely from scratch. Well, not
completely from scratch, I guess. I use the nifty program KompoZer
for coding. Most of the coding is done by hand by me, though.
I use KompoZer for the text formatting like I'm doing right
now, but other than that I like to have complete control over the
appearance and feel of my site, so I code stuff by hand, either from
knowledge I had before or by looking up the HTML/JavaScript/CSS code
online and figuring out how to implement it for my use.

I myself like the layout a lot.
It's simple with black and white and thin lines and
unassuming elements. If you like it, you're free to view the
