The poojalooba.com RSS Feed
What Is RSS?
RSS
stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a way of subscribing and
receiving updates about a web page or a topic or a site whenever there
are changes or note-worthy things happening. I use an RSS
feed on my site instead of a mailing list, because it's simpler, easier
to keep track of, I don't have to database it, and I don't have to pay
attention to who's who or how many people I need to send specific
things to, etc. You benefit from me using an RSS Feed because
it preserves your privacy much more than a mailing list does.
I would never send you spam, but Internet databases are
vulnerable and someone could steal my list of emails and send garbage
to the list. An RSS Feed preserves your privacy because you
remain anonymous to me but you can still receive updates via email or
from any feed reader application, including on your iGoogle
homepage
and directly through FireFox from Live
Bookmarks.
You can even receive RSS updates on
mobile devices like cell phones, BlackBerry devices and iPhones!
You can also subscribe to the RSS feed directly on your Gmail
home through the Web Clips option. Just enter the URL of the
poojalooba.com RSS feed (found below) into the search box on the Web
Clips tab of Settings in Gmail.
The only downside I can see is that I
have no idea how many people are subscribed to my feed. I
could use a service like FeedBurner to
host my RSS Feed and show me statistics, but I like to localize my
files, and I like coding my own RSS Feed.
Anyway, if you'd like to subscribe and
